I sold all my furniture on Xianyu. Made ¥1,100 without lifting a finger.

My Australian friend was leaving Shanghai. Had bed, desk, chair, fridge, washer. Posted everything on Xianyu (闲鱼).

Xianyu = China's biggest second-hand marketplace:
300M+ users. Owned by Alibaba. Alipay escrow payments.

Her sales:
• Bed: Bought ¥1,200 → Sold ¥400
• Desk: Bought ¥800 → Sold ¥250
• Chair: Bought ¥600 → Sold ¥150
• Fridge: Bought ¥500 → Sold ¥100
• Washer: Bought ¥1,000 → Sold ¥200
Total: ¥1,100

How to sell as foreigner:
1. Download Xianyu app (Chinese only — use translate)
2. Link Alipay
3. Good photos, honest condition description
4. Price at 20-40% of original for furniture
5. Expect negotiation
6. Buyers usually pick up themselves

Tips:
• Price above your bottom line — everyone haggles
• Respond fast or buyers move on
• Have someone with you for home pickups
• Honesty matters — bad ratings hurt future sales

"Listed Sunday. Gone by Wednesday. Buyers brought trucks and tools. I made ¥1,100 without moving anything."

Anyone else used Xianyu?
