My friend from Germany was traveling Beijing to Shanghai with two large suitcases. She dreaded the train station experience — security, stairs, crowds.

Then she discovered China's new Easy Travel (轻松行) luggage service.

What is Easy Travel?

Launched June 28, 2026, by China Railway. It's a door-to-station and station-to-door luggage delivery service.

You don't carry your bags through the station. A courier picks them up from your hotel and delivers them to the train platform — or vice versa.

How it works:

Door-to-Station:
• Book 48 hours to 4 hours before departure
• Staff collects luggage from your hotel/home
• They transport it to the station
• After security check, luggage goes to a service locker OR directly to your platform 10 minutes before departure

Station-to-Door:
• Book 24 hours to 1 hour before arrival
• Staff collects luggage from the platform or locker
• Delivers to your hotel/home within 5 hours

The 19 pilot stations:

Beijing West, Beijing South, Shanghai, Shanghai Hongqiao, Hangzhou East, Hangzhou, Hefei South, Guangzhou South, Shenzhen North, Changsha South, Chengdu East, Chengdu West, Kunming, Kunming South, Dali, Lijiang, Baoshan, Pu'er, Xishuangbanna.

Pricing:

• Door to station: ¥68 per piece
• Station to door: ¥68 per piece
• Door to platform: ¥98 per piece
• Platform to door: ¥98 per piece

Book through the Railway 12306 app or WeChat mini-program.

Luggage limits:

• Weight: 20kg per piece (standard passenger limit)
• Size: length + width + height ≤ 130cm for high-speed rail
• No prohibited items (same as railway regulations)

Self-service lockers (alternative):

If you just need to store luggage for a few hours while exploring:
• Available at most major stations
• ¥3-6 per hour depending on locker size
• Pay via Alipay/WeChat
• Some stations have transparent warehouses (ZZER) with free storage for customers

Shenzhen Metro also has lockers:

25 metro stations now offer luggage storage lockers including Airport, Futian Checkpoint, Window of the World. Around 700 compartments total. Reserve via WeChat/Alipay after real-name registration.

My German friend's reaction:
"I paid ¥136 to have both suitcases picked up at my Beijing hotel and delivered to my Shanghai apartment. I walked onto the train with just a backpack. It felt like flying business class, but for luggage."

Anyone else used the Easy Travel service or station lockers?
